"You're an egg machine."

...or so SKB told me via text when I told her they got 26 eggs today. I beat my record.

On the way home, KG and I even treated ourselves to outrageously good doughnuts at our local bakery. Seriously, they are AMAZING.

I'm sore, groggy, and relieved it's over.

Pins and needles until I get the fertilization results tomorrow! In the meantime, DVR and Powerade.

  1. 26! That's awesome! Hope you drink tons of Gatorade, lots a salt and minimum carbs to keep that OHSS at bay. Keeping my fingers crossed that your fert report goes well.

  10. Wow. did you ever get your vitamin D levels checked? The issue with PCOS of course is that while the quantity often off the charts high, only a certain percentage are good quality/mature. The 2 ways that the quality has been shown to be upped is metformin and maybe vitamin D too. 26 is not a crazy number by PCOS standards, I've seen egg retrieval numbers of like 50 or more, my sense is, the higher the numbers, often the worse things turn out because very few of them are good quality, so with 26, it sounds like a pretty ok place to be.

Keeping my fingers and toes tightly crossed!

    1. I asked about getting it checked but the RE's office said it won't get insurance approval through them. So, I need to go to my PCP for any vitamin level testing. I just didn't have time to get in for that yet.

Last time, 19 out of my 23 were mature and looked to be of good quality...at least that's what I was told. It seems like no matter how slow and steady my stims are, I always develop a bunch of follicles. So, we'll cross our fingers.

    2. Wow, that is honestly a dumbass response of your RE. And vitamin D IS strongly linked to fertility, so it should be tested as part of the fertility workup--- your RE should so should read all the articles listed on this page...given that they are in fact written by his sodding peers!
